Computer Science Conference

Event description Now that the New Computing Curriculum is being integrated into our schools, we are pleased to announce that our first Computer Science Conference will take place on March 30th 2015. This will provides an ideal opportunities for teachers and Computing Leaders to find out more about Computer Science and share some of the excellent practise that is taking place.

Key Note Speakers:

David Brown HMI ' Ofsted National Lead for Computing
Max Wainewright, creator of Espresso Coding
Phil Bagge whose Scratch programming planning is the number one Scratch planning link in the UK.

There will be a wide range of workshops to choose from including:
Espresso Coding; J2Code; KS3 Unplugged; Pi, Minecraft and Python; Lego Mindstorms EV3; Scratch Basics, Fuze and Understanding Networks.

Please find attached details of all the workshops being offered. When your booking is confirmed, you will receive a workshop options request form which needs to be completed and returned to vicki.honey@kent.gov.uk by Friday 13th March 2015. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. We will try and accommodate workshops options where possible, but workshop sizes are limited and we cannot guarantee you will receive your preferred options. If you do not return your workshop options by the above date you will automatically be allocated to workshops where there are places available.

Delegates are to bring charged laptops or tablet devices if they wish to join in with some of the workshops 
Training objectives To support delegates in delivering the Computer Science Strand of the New Computing Curriculum at Key Stage 1, 2 and 3.
To share good practise and ideas for supporting the New Computing Curriculum.
To explore a range of resources which could be used to deliver the curriculum.
