The OCNWMR Level 3 Certificate in Forest School Programme Leadership (5 Day Course)

Event description INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO APPLY FOR A PLACE ON THIS EVENT IS LISTED BELOW.

This OCNWMR course will be delivered over a 9 month period and comprises of 155 hours of learning time, it carries a total of 18 credits at level 3 and consists of 5 units:

• Forest School Programme: Delivery
• Forest School Programme: Learning & Development
• Forest School Programme: Planning & Preparation
• Forest School Programme: Practical Skills
• Forest School Programme: The Woodland Environment

Entry Requirements:

- Aged 19 or over

And before running your programme:
- Access to an appropriate site and group of children to run a Forest School programme.

Initially you will undertake five full days of training with our expert Ranger team to provide you with the knowledge to begin your Forest School Leadership journey.
(11th - 15th November 2019)

After your initial training there will be a further two days to complete your First Aid Qualification 18th & 19th May 2020 and a further three skills days 20th, 21st & 22nd April 2020 to enable you to practise the numerous skills that you will have learnt and practised between training days.

Your final assessment day will be an observation to take place over a half day and will take place in your own Forest School setting. Your tutor will be observing your sessions and providing further advice and support to prepare you for your future Forest School plans.

The course will be primarily run outside in the beautiful grounds of our Country Park so you will need to be prepared for any eventuality in the weather as well as being willing to get stuck in to the numerous practical and interactive elements, please wear suitable footwear and clothing, we suggest wearing layers as parts of the course will take place in our classroom.

Lunch is not provided on this course.
Delegates will not have to pay for parking, they will be required to give vehicle registrations on arrival. 
Training objectives Who is the qualification designed for?

The training course is designed for practitioners who already have experience of working with children, young people and/or adult groups and wish to establish and deliver Forest School programmes. The Level 3 qualification is the leadership level and therefore practitioners should be aware of the level of responsibility this will entail as a Forest School leader.
