Effective Editing and Redrafting of Writing at Key Stage 1

This half-day session will enthuse practitioners with useful, classroom-based tools in order to equip children with the skills needed to be effective editors. The activities and subject knowledge is grounded in real life practice, and aims to steer children away from the continual re-drafting of their work.


VENUE: The Training will be held in the Bredhurst room. See the attached site map for room location. 
Training objectives * to use child-led editing for assessment purposes
* to encourage editing strategies in all KS1 year groups as part of the school ethos
* to show how improving writing can lead to better first attempts and progress in writing skills
* to eliminate unnecessary re-writing and ensure that children understand the purpose in the re-drafting process.
