A two-part course of half-day sessions between terms 2 and 3, this course will focus on strategic leadership of English grammar, punctuation and spelling through the primary school. It will provide direction for the best pedagogical approaches to use, together with appropriate monitoring skills and sharper subject knowledge. Delegates will feel more confident about defining their next steps, in order to promote improved pupil attainment. Intercessional tasks between the two half-days will be suggested and discussed, to ensure ongoing action.

* To provide resources to help leaders to achieve this
* To encourage clear, smart thinking about the best ways to tackle poor attainment or progress in these elements of English
