Event description This course aims to demonstrate the use of the SIMS Attendance module to monitor and track student attendance

It is suitable for staff who have an in depth knowledge of how to enter and maintain attendance data but who would like to learn more about attendance letters, reporting, SIMS Discover and generally make the most of Attendance functionality in SIMS, having previously attended course E192 SIMS Attendance (or the equivalent E284 Lesson Monitor course)

An understanding of school and DfE Attendance Policy is essential 
Training objectives Configuring Attendance Summary panels on the Home page

Use of Student Teacher View to traffic light attendance

Create user defined groups and use them to monitor attendance

Design and produce attendance related letters and certificates

Use reports to improve attendance in school

Using SIMS Discover to investigate patterns of Attendance

This course is suitable for secondary school Attendance Officers if using SIMS Attendance, although the training dataset used is based on primary age students. For those schools who use Lesson Monitor, the course is suitable; however, there will be a slight difference in screens
