Developing Fluency in Multiplication Facts (Years 1-4)

Event description Credit worthy - A subject knowledge course for teachers in Years 1-4 to prepare pupils for the Year 4 Multiplication Screening Check (MSC). This course will focus on the teaching of multiplication facts to develop the fluency required in Year 4 to pass the screening check which becomes statutory in the 2019-20 academic year. 
Training objectives * Gain a clear understanding of the phases of development for the teaching of multiplication facts.
* Plan a logical sequence for introducing and learning each multiplication table.
* Recognise the broad range of resources that can be used to master multiplication.
* Plan how to use the counting stick to develop fluency in multiplication facts.
