Books Without Words: Inclusive Reading and Writing for All (Cancelled)

Reason for cancellation Low Numbers
Event code SCH 19/786
Event description Credit worthy

This half day session encourages practitioners not to forget the use of picture books in whole school experiences and Key Stage 2 classrooms. It will explain the benefits of inclusive reading sessions which engage children of varying abilities, look at how they can be utilised to challenge those of higher ability, and discuss how to draw assessment links with end of Key Stage 2 tests. If the teaching of reading is a focus for your school, this session will enthuse and further prepare class teachers; it will inform them of new ideas with 'real-life' activities which have been used with children, using a number of core texts.
