Event description | Credit worthy - Is it time to rethink your Reading Curriculum? Have your latest initiatives had disappointing results? Has your pupils’ enthusiasm for reading fallen flat? Our English conference 2020 aims to rekindle that spark, to help you to enrich your practice, and to support you in making the best decisions when formulating your whole reading curriculum. With keynote speakers and experts Rob Smith and Lindsay Pickton, this online conference will offer you high quality speakers with inspirational ideas. Session titles, dates and times are as below: Tuesday 22nd September 16:00 – 17:00 – Workshop: Making guided reading focused and enjoyable – Sarah Carpenter Wednesday 23rd September 16:00 – 17:00 – Key Note Speech: It’s not just books – Rob Smith Thursday 24th September 09:30 – 10:30 – Workshop: Fluency and engagement in reading: becoming truly independent – Christine Chen 11:00 – 12:00 – Workshop: Developing whole class reading using VIPERS – Rob Smith 13:30 – 14:30 – Key Note Speech: The Explicit Teaching of Inference – Lindsay Pickton 15:30 – 16:30 – Workshop: Purposeful reading of non-fiction: reading to learn across the curriculum – Lindsay Pickton This conference will run as a series of zoom sessions. Confirmed delegates will be e-mailed the individual links 24 hour prior to the start. Please ensure you are able to access zoom at least 1 hour prior to the session. Please note that this conference is not recorded and will not be available to watch at a later date. When booking your place please indicate that you are an Elite member in the Booking Requirements section. The schools credits should then be refunded back to the school within 2 weeks of receiving confirmation of your booking. The cancellation period for this conference is 14 working days. Cancellations received after Tuesday 8th September 2020 will be charged at the full conference price. |
