Organising an Effective Reading Curriculum (3 half day sessions)

A three-part course of half-day sessions between terms 3 and 4, this course will focus on strategic leadership of the Reading curriculum through the primary school. It will improve subject knowledge in the teaching of Reading, and direction in suitable pedagogical approaches to use when making decisions about curriculum structure. Delegates will feel more confident about defining their next steps, in order to promote an effective, rich curriculum for Reading.

Intercessional tasks between each session will be suggested, to ensure ongoing action. 
Training objectives * To equip school leaders and leaders of English with an understanding of what is required, in order to achieve effective curriculum design and leadership of Reading in the primary school

* To provide resources and advice to help leaders to achieve this

* To encourage clear, smart thinking about the best ways to tackle poor attainment or progress in Reading
