Event description Following on from the Kent County Council Welcome Event for New Headteachers, this session is part of the KCC Induction programme which is a key component of the Kent Leadership Strategy and an important way of supporting leaders’ development. The programme is aimed at all new Heads in Kent and is relevant to Primary, Secondary and Special Schools.

The programme is comprised of a sequence of six sessions which take place termly. It is flexible allowing Headteachers to join at any point over the year.

This session will be facilitated by Emma Hickling, Executive Headteacher of The ASPIRE Federation and Neil Birch, Executive Headteacher of The Beacon School.

The main speakers will be representatives from Inclusion & Attendance, Fair Access and Schools Personnel Service

This session includes:
• Attendance
• Admissions - a strategic viewpoint
• Staff management
• Working relationships with pupils and parents, including complaints and managing social media
• Networking and a school tour

** A sandwich lunch will be provided **
Training objectives • Ensure Headteachers are supported with personal development, behaviour and wellbeing

• Provide Headteachers with guidance on working relationships and staff management

• Support Headteacher development through the initial phases of headship

• Share good and outstanding practice

• Encourage collaboration and the development of networks

Funding information This induction programme is free of charge to invited/newly appointed Head teachers.

There is a charge of £65 or 6 credits for all other bookings. If you book a place and then do not attend or cancel your place within 15 days of the course date, the full fee will be charged.
