Care Plans & Risk Assessments For Children And Young People With Physical Disability And/Or Complex Medical Needs

Event description This is a half-day workshop which will cover:
• Through discussion and relevant examples, we will look at current legislation and guidance relating to settings and schools to support inclusion of students with physical disability and/or complex medical needs
• Using case studies, we will identify the information that needs to be gathered and recorded to complete an individual health care plan and/or risk assessment for students with additional needs
• Through discussion we will consider individual settings and schools needs
• Templates for settings and schools will be available and guidance on commonly occurring medical conditions

This workshop is aimed at SENCOs, Nursery Managers and Heads of Pastoral Care.

The morning session will be for delegates from schools (09:30-12:30) and the afternoon session will be for delegates from early years settings (13:00-16:00).

Refreshments are included. 
Training objectives This half-day workshop will focus on identifying when a risk assessment or individual health care plan is needed, as well as understanding roles and responsibilities when writing a risk assessment or individual health care plan. Participants will be able to write an individual health care plan for a pupil with physical disability or complex medical needs. Participants will also be able to write a personal risk assessment and/or personal emergency evacuation plan for a student with additional needs.
