Event description | This fun packed course will explore how the natural environment can be used to stimulate the senses of Early Years children. Lots of practical activities, games and songs will be demonstrated and discussed with the opportunity to make some simple equipment. The course will look at how the environment can be used as a tool to develop and extend children's patterns of learning. It will also provide ideas and advice on how small sensory gardens can be created and managed. Much of the course will take place outside, and you will need to bring appropriate clothing and footwear. Lunch isn't provided, please bring your own or we have a lovely cafe on site. Tea and coffee provided. |

Training objectives | Understand how the natural environment can be used as a tool to develop the senses of Early Years children. Develop a rudimentary understanding of schemas and learning styles and consider how the natural environment can be used to extend these. Learn how to set-up, implement and facilitate a number of sensory activities and games for Early Years children. Learn how to establish a sensory area/garden using simple and inexpensive resources. |
