Maths Matters in EYFS - A Focus on Practical Ways to Improve Provision and Attainment

Event code SCH 22/065
Event description "The first few years of a child’s life are especially important for mathematics development. Research shows that early mathematical knowledge predicts later reading ability and general education and social progress. Conversely, children who start behind in mathematics tend to stay behind throughout their whole educational journey." This quote shows the importance of making Maths Matter in the EYFS.

The primary focus of this course is to demonstrate practical ways to improve the provision and attainment of the pupils in Foundation Stage. This face to face course follows on from the online course 'Maths Matters in EYFS - A Focus on Improving Provision and Attainment' on 22nd September 2021. Delegates do not need to have attended the September session to book onto this course.

For delgates booking onto both courses - gap tasks will be given between each event so that the knowledge and skills learnt can be practised within the school setting. The project will support practitioners in their understanding of how best to support pupils in the indoor and outdoor environment. This course is closely linked to an online event which focusses on the the importance of Early Years Maths and building these solid foundations in pupils.

This session will run as an interactive Zoom session.
Confirmed delegates will be e-mailed the link 24 hours prior to the session. Please ensure you are able to access Zoom at least 1 hour prior to the session. Please note that these are not recorded and therefore not available to watch at a later date and delegates need to attend as a live session.

If you have not received the link, please do not hesitate to contact us on 03301 651000.

If you have not used Zoom before and require helpful tips, we recommend having a look at these:
