Event description | Increasing staff awareness, understanding of respect for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller culture and history, leading to increased wellbeing and self-esteem of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller pupils. This session will run as an interactive Zoom session. Delegates will be sent the link no later than 24 hours before the start date. Please ensure you are able to access Zoom at least 1 hour prior to the session. Please note that these are not recorded and therefore not available to watch at a later date and delegates need to attend as a live session. Training objectives | To increase Gypsy, Roma and Traveller wellbeing, the training will enable delegates to: • develop a greater knowledge and understanding of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) history, culture, lifestyles and beliefs • explore identity, diversity, belonging and inclusion • promote engagement and high expectations for GRT young children • understand the barriers to engagement and inclusion for GRT young children and how to overcomes these • develop a greater understanding of the statutory duties, Equality Act, Ofsted criteria in regard to equality and challenging racism. |
