Event description | This course is split into two parts (two half-day sessions) which looks at the key concepts to support families in: - building block to change - building family strengths - building protection in context By the end of the course you will be able to consider how your own values and experiences can impact your work with children, young people and families, and how individuals manage change. The course will support you to work in a strength-based way and to understand how trauma may manifest itself in children, young people and families. You will be encouraged to step out of your expert role and empower the family to become experts of their own solutions. Risk and vulnerability within its varied context will be explored. The theme of professional curiosity and critical reflection will run through the planned sessions. The course considers: - organisational and family change - biases and assumptions - values of practice and social graces - positive reframing - strength-based and solution focused approaches - trauma informed practice - genograms - ecological approaches and impact - contextual safeguarding - restorative approaches Please note any one who books must complete both parts of the course. |
