Managing Behaviour in the Classroom (ECTs)

Event code SCH 22/335
Event description It has been rightly said that no matter how qualified you are, and no matter how much lesson prep you have done, if you cannot manage the behaviour of the students in the classroom then you are not going to be able to teach them.

This session is a “whistle-stop” – but very practical – tour looking at the three key aspects of managing behaviour – the “3 P’s” – the Principles of Behaviour (what is behaviour?); the Psychology of Behaviour (what drives a young person to behave as they do? If we don’t understand HOW they think, then we are going to try to MANAGE them in the wrong way); the Practices of Behaviour (the main course of “how are we going to manage them when they begin to misbehave?)

This session is one of our 4 ONLINE Primary Programme modules. Each event is bookable individually and schools in the SLA will receive 1 free place per session. The focus for each of the 4 Primary Programme events is outlined below:

1) Managing Behaviour in the Classroom - delivered by the Behaviour Management specialist Peter Hobbs
Tuesday 8th March (SCH 22/335)

2) Autism Awareness in the Classroom - delivered by the Send Trainer Emma Kaye

3) Understand and Managing Challenging Behaviours in the Early Years Setting - delivered by Emma Kaye

4) Motivating the Demotivated - delivered by the Behaviour Management specialist Peter Hobbs. This session is a standalone but direct follow-on from the first session.
