Event description | It has been said that the primary reason given over the years by teachers who sadly leave the profession is feeling that they cannot manage a whole class. This session begins by looking at possibly the main reason (there are many others) why children and young people misbehave – a lack of motivation...”what’s the point?” Beginning with a simple look at how the human race is motivated, we then transfer this to the classroom to see simple but profoundly important behavioural strategies for ensuring that students are motivated from the moment they arrive at the classroom till the moment that they leave it. This session is one of our 4 ONLINE Primary Programme modules. Each event is bookable individually and schools in the SLA will receive 1 free place per session. The focus for each of the 4 Primary Programme events is outlined below: 1) Managing Behaviour in the Classroom - delivered by the Behaviour Management specialist Peter Hobbs Tuesday 8th March (SCH 22/335) 2) Autism Awareness in the Classroom - delivered by the Send Trainer Emma Kaye Tuesday 22nd March (SCH 22/336) 3) Understand and Managing Challenging Behaviours in the Early Years Setting - delivered by Emma Kaye Wednesday 11th May (SCH 22/337) 4) Motivating the Demotivated - delivered by the Behaviour Management specialist Peter Hobbs. This session is a standalone but direct follow-on from the first session. Thursday 19th May (SCH 22/338) This session will run as an interactive Zoom session. Delegates will be sent the link no later than 24 hours before the start date. Please ensure you are able to access Zoom at least 1 hour prior to the session. Please note that these are not recorded and therefore not available to watch at a later date and delegates need to attend as a live session. If you have not used Zoom before and require helpful tips, we recommend having a look at these: How to join a Zoom meeting for delegates https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193 Join a test meeting to familiarise yourself https://zoom.us/test Participants who are unable to install Zoom can join our training using the Zoom web client on their desktop web browser. The Join from your browser link will appear after the user clicks on the link to join the meeting. |
