We are delighted to announce that our Governor conference will have many relevant key notes this year to support the current financial crisis. We will be joined by Steve Edmonds from the National Governance Association who will be talking about financial oversight in challenging times. We will also be joined by the School Business Manager and Chair of Blean Primary School to discuss how the relationship between the Board and the School Business Manager is key to supporting school finance. Ben Ah Thew (Business Development Manager) and Andy Morgan (Assistant Director Carbon and Energy Management) will represent LASER and be discussing the energy markets and energy efficiency/renewable energy opportunities and what this means for schools. We have Ruth Lindsay, Project Manager and Governor at the Medway Foodbank and how they can help schools to support families and how collaborative working with foodbanks can have a positive impact on families and children. We also have a company called Children North East who will be talking about their toolkits around Poverty Proofing the school day. Lorna Nicholl is a previous Head and Governor and will give tips on quick wins around poverty proofing your school day. We hope the event will provide you with many opportunities to look at ways in which you can support education in the current financial crisis. This session will run as an interactive Zoom session. Delegates will be sent the link no later than 24 hours before the start date. Please ensure you are able to access Zoom at least 1 hour prior to the session. Please note that these are not recorded and therefore not available to watch at a later date and delegates need to attend as a live session.
