Emotional Health and Wellbeing in the Early Years Foundation Stage Conference

Event code SCH 19/460
Event description Our awareness of Emotional Health and Well Being has been raised recently through a variety of research, press/media and governmental publications. This raises a lot of questions for professionals working in EYFS.
Feelings and emotions are an integral part of human lives, perhaps we are not paying enough attention to what they tell us? Or alternatively are we ‘medicalising’ typical experiences of growing up through our focus on well-being? In EYFS children are just becoming aware of their own emotions, so, are the messages we give helpful on their journey to being emotionally healthy? For adults working with young children is our emotional health and well being also being challenged, and if so can we do anything about it? If there are challenges for professionals working with our youngest children are these also experienced by parents?

We are delighted to welcome key speakers Kay Mathieson and Sharon Gray OBE, both national consultants and trainers – full biographies attached.
There will be a range of practical workshops for delegates to attend throughout the course of the day, along with opportunity to browse a number of trade stands.
