NQT Induction Tutor / Mentor Training

Event description Credit worthy - Are you tutoring or mentoring NQTs throughout their induction this year? If so, do you know what this important role involves?

This half day training course is for new and experienced tutors and mentors involved in the NQT induction process. The interactive session will ensure you understand what your role entails, what best practice looks like and where to go for help and advice. The course is also suitable as a refresher session for those tutors and mentors who haven't attended training in the past 5 years. 
Training objectives • To highlight the main points of the statutory induction guidance to ensure you know what is expected from you and your NQT throughout their induction
• To understand the assessment process and how to write them, including setting SMART targets and ensuring you provide sufficient evidence
• How to accurately assess your NQT against the Teachers' Standards and grade appropriately
• What to do if your NQT is causing concern and not making expected progress
• To share resources effective in supporting induction to make your role easier
• To meet other school-based Induction Tutors / Mentors supporting NQTs throughout their induction period to share good practice
