This training will support staff to meet the needs of the increasing number of new arrivals in our schools. From the initial enquiry to a school from the parents or carers, through the induction process to full integration into class. This training will explore the key challenges facing newly arrived pupils with English as an additional language starting school in the United Kingdom and provide delegates with strategies to overcome these. 
Training objectives During this session delegates will:

- To develop a whole-school approach to the induction of newly arrived EAL pupils
- To be aware of the challenges facing EAL new arrivals and how they can be supported in their early days at school
- To have the opportunity to discuss inclusive teaching strategies that will engage newly arrived EAL pupils in their learning of both the English language and curriculum content
