This course is the first level training for staff in schools who are new to the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). It will help you meet your statutory responsibilities including those identified in Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children. The course is delivered by experienced trainers who have a sound knowledge of social work and school practice.

 
Training objectives By the end of the course the members will know their responsibilities as Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) ie

* Training and Induction of staff

* Raising Awareness of child protection/safeguarding issues within school/workplace

* Multi-agency systems and processes for Working Together with other agencies including Children's Social Services, Health, Police, Probation
