Strategic Financial Management in Difficult Times

Event description The course will cover the causes for schools finding themselves in financial difficulty, the process of interrogating information from different sources to better understand and review the current financial position of their school as well as the strategic decisions that can be taken to better improve that position.

At the same time, delegates will also understand the importance of being able to provide governors with their reasoning behind those financial decisions and how they should link to the 3 year planning process and costed School Improvement Plan. 
Training objectives Delegates will work through a number of exercises linked to a case study using various tools and their own strategic decisions based on the information provided to make changes to the schools 3 year budget plan. Laptops will provided to work for the exercises, however delegates are free to bring their own if they prefer.
