Enhancing Family Involvement in Children’s Learning (EFICL) – Primary Phase

Event code EYC 19/258
Event description “All parents/carers have the power to change outcomes for their child, no matter what their background” National Literacy Trust (2018)

Families are crucially important in the learning and development of their children. Schools are well placed to involve families in enhancing children’s learning but sometimes find this difficult. The Education People has further developed their award-winning EFICL Toolkit to include the Audit and Reflection Tool (ART) - Primary Phase with the help of 10 Kent schools to bring you a bespoke version for primary schools. The EFICL Audit and Reflection Tool (ART) - Primary Phase is divided into 5 sections giving you an opportunity for your whole school community to review your practice around:

• ethos and inclusion
• effective relationships
• conversations and links with families to enhance learning
• transitions
• supporting punctuality and attendance.

This workshop provides you with an exciting opportunity to explore the importance and value of family and community involvement in children’s learning as well as being equipped with the new EFICL Audit and Reflection Tool (ART) - Primary Phase to carry out with your whole school community.

This workshop cost includes a discounted copy of the EFICL Audit and Reflection Tool (ART) - Primary Phase – Valuing Family Involvement throughout a child’s primary school years usually costing £16.50 and reduced to £10.
Training objectives To understand the importance of engaging and involving families in their children's learning and to use the EFICL Audit and Reflection Tool (ART) - Primary Phase to strengthen and enhance family involvement.
