Child Exploitation Training (Virtual Training Course)

Event description This training is to introduce the new Child Exploitation Assessment Tools which are to be used in Kent and Medway. The training will provide the rationale behind the new assessment which is based on messages from research.

Participants will enter a virtual learning environment, via Microsoft Teams and practice using the exploitation tools in small groups to asses and plan interventions for children and young people experiencing all kinds of child exploitation. 
Training objectives The learning outcomes for this course as as follows:

- To introduce the new exploitation assessment tools to be used in Kent and Medway, and give participants an opportunity to use them while developing understanding and confidence with the tools.
- To be able to identify the needs of a child/young person who may be vulnerable to being exploited, is being groomed or targeted for the purposes of exploitation or is being exploited.
- To support practitioners to be more analytical and holistic in their assessment of need and risk.
- To support practitioners to identify the most appropriate intervention(s) for the child and their family.
